I don't even know where to start with this one, but I guess the beginning is the most logical....though this story has some back-story to it.....anyway....this morning my very darling, youngest offspring came downstairs looking rather disheveled and said to me, "Mom, I have to tell you something." and then promptly burst into tears. I, being the concerned and ever present parent, say something motherly like....what's the matter?. She keeps sobbing and is saying something about how her hair was getting in her eyes in her sleep last night....hmmmm, I say, sounding comforting (I'm sure) though I am baffled about why this is cause for such distress. Now she's crying even harder and I can't understand a word coming out of her mouth....long story short, there is a large pile of golden curls laying on the floor of my bathroom as she has taken it into her own hands to remedy this hair in the eyes issue with a dull pair of kid scissors. AAACCCKKKK! (Back story...this is not the first time she has cut her own hair...but this is definitely the most dramatic cut!)
BEFORE:
Note the short stubby "can I call them bangs" from the previous haircut.
THIS MORNING:
Not sure you can tell from this shot how choppy it really is....she really wasn't in the mood to have her picture taken....can you believe it?
With a touch of hysteria I called every kids haircut place I could find, telling them I had a "haircut emergency"....the first opening I found was at a kids' salon on Mercer Island called Dooz. I immediately took it having heard rave reviews from some friends and now I am HIGHLY recommending it to all of you......
the AFTER:
Isn't she the cutest little bug ever? I was, pathetically, a little weepy when she was all finished....they saved my baby's hair and she is just as adorable and squeezable as before she butchered her gorgeous curls. (OK, so I am a tad attached to my kiddos fabulous hair!!) Anyway, it was a fantabulous experience....Anna was in charge of this transformation and made it super easy and fun for Annie.....much easing her into the whole experience and glitter hair spray and a prize machine in the end!! Who could ask for more? And the icing on the cake is that I almost have my middle kiddo talked into her first haircut EVER....the amazing power of glitter!! Moral of this story: wish I knew....clearly we have discussed this issue before (did not faze her) and I refuse to get rid of all the scissors in our house....I guess fingers crossed for no more experiments!!

Oh my goodness, that naughty Annie... I am surprised to hear this, but really not all that shocked by it. She is definitely prone to middle of the night hijinx. I do think it is a terrible crime to cut off such gorgeous hair though, although it did turn out super cute.

Oh she looks adorable...in the last shot. She has sort of an "Oliver" waif-thing going on in the second shot; poor thing. I'm so glad her curls were saved and she'll have no more hair in the eyes while sleeping!

Ditto what Hillary wrote -- she nailed it on the head with the "Oliver waif" comment! Annie looks so cute with her new cut though! The post-Dooz one. :)
