A Little Cutie Pie

I have had the chance to photograph this little cutie three times before...and she just keeps getting bigger, funnier, and cuter!  This time she finally brought her parents with her for some holiday/family photos.  Here are a few of my favorite shots....

Hee hee!  That one just makes me laugh....does she have a secret?  maybe she was just being a little naughty?  I guess we'll never know.

Then we ventured outside...can't believe we made it outside at the end of November!!

I love this one for a couple of reasons.  First, you get an idea of how tiny she really is when you see her against her parents' legs.  Second, I love that you can see them holding hands behind her.   Ahhhh, young love!

Happy Monday everyone...hope you are managing to get going this morning after Thanksgiving weekend...and just to follow up on the 1/2 marathon race post, we completed the race in our best form ever (though not our best time) and the breakfast/spa part of the day was spectacular.  Quite a bit stiff and sore this morning though.  Big thanks to all our cheerleaders at the race and on the blog!!  The encouragement was much needed and very appreciated!

I had a ton of fun photographing these guys last weekend.  I was so excited to get a chance to meet all the boys that belong to this mom.  She is going to have a house full of football and soccer and all things boy....actually, I think she already does.   Here are a few of my favorites....

This big brother LOVES being a big brother and is such a great helper.  And, he is the one that got the best laughs and giggles out of the little man.

These guys were just plain old fun to photograph.  Just an all around happy bunch with smiles galore.

I know I just said tons of smiles (and there are definitely smiley ones of this guy) but I LOVE this shot.  I get a peek into what he is going to look like as a teenager...watch out mom, I think you are going to be dealing with lots of giggling girls around your house!

There's a sweet little smile.   And he has the best laugh ever.  What a funny guy.  Just overflowing with personality.  I love this age for that very reason.

A Storybook Family

This charming prince has three beautiful princesses...isn't he lucky?!

  It has been such fun to watch this family grow...adding a kid and then those kids just keep growing and changing.

I wonder if I ever felt like that about my little sister??  I know I do now, and I know I did when she was first born, but when she was this big and getting into all my stuff??  I'm not so sure.

We Need More Cow Bell!!

So I'm giving you all plenty of time to rework your schedules so you can make it over to Seattle this coming Sunday morning...say around 8:30 at the top of the hill on Madison, right by the entrance to the Arboretum.  My sister and I will be partaking in the Seattle Half Marathon and seeing as how our training regimen is sorely lacking in comparison to previous years, we can use all the cheering we can get...especially to get us up and over the monster hill that is Madison.  I'm sure that we would be almost equally motivated by a little blog comment love & encouragement...just in case you can't manage to rearrange your plans for us! 

Here is our official race day photo from about 3 years ago...taken be the up and coming photographer, Miss Madelyn (who was 5 at the time and it was about 5:30 in the morning and it was snowing...so give us a break).

For identification purposes...I will look virtually identical...same hat, same coat, I believe Sissy-pants will be sporting her new gray running jacket...however, we WILL be together....because if she ditches me this year, I will be a sobbing, blubbering mess by the side of the road.  (There, how's that for a little guilt!)  There will be much carb loading and viewing of the fabulous running film, Run, Fat Boy, Run! on Saturday night.  And in keeping with the "tradition" we started last year, the grueling race will be followed by large quantities of yummy breakfast food and fabulous massages & pedicures....big huge thanks to my soccer team for sponsoring my trip to the spa with a lovely end of season gift card...woohoo!

Back to your regularly scheduled photo blog programming tomorrow and Friday....hope you all have started your pre-turkey dinner stomach stretching exercises!

Did he really just say....

This weekend I had the chance to photograph this little man and his family in their beautiful home.  I've known them for quite awhile now...ever since this big guy was just a tiny little guy.  And now he is a big chatty guy.  He kept me laughing with his comments throughout the morning, partly because of his absolutely adorable little voice and partly because of the hilarious things coming out of his mouth!  Best part of the morning?  I got a kiss at the end!  Yay me!  Here are a few of my favorites...

This shot reminds me a little of a shot from a recent session....guess what?  They are all in the same PEPS group, along with my nephew.  I think it is a catching sentiment...total adoration!  And I was seriously impressed that mom managed to get her tree up in time for photos.

I think everyone should commemorate the 2 year old "smile for the camera" smile.  So funny!

And these last 2...well, really they're just for me.  Here's hoping mom doesn't shoot me over the last one...

This little guy was pretty enthralled with their tree, but so careful too!  I still feel that way about our tree when it goes up...don't you just love to sit in the dark living room with your tree lights on???

So these guys are expecting a new little bundle pretty soon and I couldn't resist (couldn't resist = I sneaked this one) this perfectly round belly...not to mention little man in the background.  Love it!

Go Huskies!

I'm a Husky (3 generations and 6 years of school worth) and proud of it, though I will admit to not being an avid football fan.  Here's what I do know....they've been better this year than the last several, so that 's something.  Some of my very favorite people are pretty serious Husky fans and this year we are showing off a little school pride!

Once we got the family photo taken care, we got rid of those boring old adults and the fun times really started.  I will admit that these guys are some of my very favorite kiddos to photograph.  First of all, their hair is to die for!  Secondly, and WAY more importantly, they've got personality oozing out of every pore of their bodies!

And then there are the shots of the two of them...usually that can be a bit of a challenge.  Not these guys.  I think secretly they like each other, but just a little.

Just so you know, all these photos give me the warm fuzzies.  I always love it when I feel like I've captured their personalities...

Cute, Cute and a Little More Cute

This last weekend I got a chance to get to know some of my neighbors a little better.  So much fun, with a splash of challenge thrown in for good measure.  Two 5 month olds and a 4 year old....and a family photo...there's my challenge.  Well, I have to say, I exceeded my own expectations and managed a shot with FOUR, count them four, of the five members of the family looking my way!  Not to mention smiling nicely...what a bonus!  (Usually if I had managed that kind of superhuman feat, someone would have been making a dorky face.)  Look how cute they all are....

Braving the Weather

We had this session scheduled for Friday....it was the only time we could all make it.  Then the weather turned.  We bravely decided to go for it anyway...and we got a little lucky on the weather front.  It was pretty windy but not actually pouring on us.  We got really lucky with the photos...I couldn't be more excited about how these turned out....especially considering they involved 16 month old twins...a gamble to be sure, even in the best of circumstances.  A few of my favorites.....

Love the wind in mom's hair.  And the little miss to the left wouldn't give me the time of day.  Funny, as usually when we are hanging out, she and I are best buddies.

Aren't they the cutest?  I love when the adults like each other enough to want a photo of just them!  And just so you know, this guy is the BEST cook I know and he was making something divine while I was at their house.  I could smell it all day and it made me sooo hungry!

A Walking Field Trip

So I'm sitting here listening to the pouring rain, thinking back fondly on some of the nice weather photo shoots of days gone by.  Ok, maybe just a week or 2 ago.  Anyway, realized I never posted any of these photos and I thought a little sunshine might brighten my morning.  These guys are a guaranteed good time.  And clearly there is some stellar parenting going on at their house because these guys are so friendly and polite...I couldn't pay my kids to actually carry on a conversation with a virtual stranger.  Must remember to get tips from this mom!  Anyway, here are a few of my favorites....

A present for me?  Really?  You shouldn't have!  For those of you who know me well enough to know my deepest, darkest secrets....you will know just how I feel about this little surprise.  It took all my will power not to throw my camera to the ground and run away shrieking. 

I DON"T DO FROGS!!

Not only did I maintain a teeny bit of composure, I actually took a picture of the beast for this guy, though I won't be showing the big shot here as I am the boss of this blog and I can assure you this is a frog free zone.

Clearly, they do not share my feelings about frogs.  Capturing the true essence of the boy.  Thanks for a fun morning guys and a true growing experience!

Guess who is turning 2 tomorrow??  I can hardly believe it...he's not so tiny anymore.  So in order to commemorate the momentous occasion I decided to take some photos.  Wished we could have gone outside, but considering it is basically monsoon season around here, I settled for warm and dry inside.  Big hugs little man...can't wait to celebrate with you on Wednesday!

So those ones are very sweet and all, but I personally enjoy the goofy, personality shots the best!

Humorous story for your morning.  I have encouraged the little man too call me Cookie from the very beginning of his existence.  Now that he is becoming so verbal, he is picking up on it...ya for me!  However, sometimes it comes out sounding much more like Chuckie.  And sadly with the uproarious laughter and encouragement from my children (horrible little bad example setters) I feel resigned to being known as Chuckie from here on.  (Though truthfully, I don't mind what he calls me....as long as he still loves me!  Besides, it sounds too cute coming out of his little mouth in his cute little voice)
