You know when your baby is tiny and you say "I can't wait til he can sit up" or walk, or talk etc...well, I take it all back! It's all gone by way too fast and I miss my soft, fuzzy headed baby. If you can believe it, he is officially done with elementary school. Next up...middle school. Yikes...I'm pretty sure I'm the one who's not ready for that! In honor of this momentous occasion (and because my friend, Michelle, inspired me) here's a little walk down memory lane.
First Days of School
And like the big sap that I am, I cried when I said good-bye to his teacher today. I just love that she totally "got" him so early on in the year. And she wrote him the BEST note when he was "kind kid"...it just showed how much she understands him and how in tune with her class she is. Sadly, she is moving on to a different school next year, so my plan to have her for the girls too has been foiled...boo hoo. Anyway, a big thanks to all his elementary school teachers for helping him make it this far on his educational journey. Fingers crossed that he is just as lucky with his future teachers as he has been so far.
Happy summer vacation everyone...and you can bet your boots that I will be doing all kinds of things with him this summer that he will be too cool to do next summer!
WOW! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. It seems such a short time ago he was barely an armful of snuggle. I love the kindergarten photo on the rock in Snoqualmie. He is steadily getting taller, more handsome and much more talented in many ways-drawing, piano, saxophone, composing.....What a great guy he is growing into.

Sigh... .I can't believe he so BIG! Boo hoo indeed. Will have to stop feeding mine or start putting blocks on his head to prevent further growth straightaway!

You should be proud of all the time you spend with him. It has made him who he is today. I have such a good time with him myself and I just look forward to all of the adventures he and I will continue to have together. He is such a good friend and the best son I could ever ask for.

judith and john - you both made me cry. I feel like my boys are growing too fast and the oldest is not even 2 1/2! I hope they turn out as wonderful as Henry!

These photos bring back so many neat memories of Henry at each of those stages of his life. It's hard to believe he's off to middle school!
